Anyone who knows me most likely has heard a little tiny bit about my cats. Lauren, my oldest (daughter), was home for a long weekend from college and I thought it was an opportune time to grab some pictures of the kids while the weather was still nice. Noah is our large male half coon cat. He is very humble and just a great cat. He has modeled for a cat product:
Heated Kitty Pad - Plow & Hearth. No one really believes me so here it is. A couple of years ago I thought Noah seemed lonely. He was the spoiled prince of the house but I thought he needed a playmate. I was going to go to the shelter but then I saw in the newspaper an ad for Himalayan kittens. I thought how cute is that? I was curious about them so I went only to check them out.
One little white kitten with the most beautiful blue eyes really captured me. So after going home and realizing how much I wanted her I thought I should run it by my husband before presenting him with this little white fluffy kitten who came with papers and a receipt. It took most of the evening to convince him the purchase was, well, worth it, I guess you could say! Sasha is actually a very affectionate and intelligent animal. She is usually within 2 feet of me most of the time. Best of all, she has total cattitude. So she fits right in.
One thing I learned, seriously though, by having a pure bred animal is that there really is no fear of them ending up in a shelter if they do not sell. The breeders (good ones) usually do not allow that. The breeder Sasha came from has many grown cats, because, she told me, they didn't sell as kittens. So maybe the saying is somewhat true 'when you buy a shelter animal will die'. Although I love Sasha and would never trade her, return her, nor regret getting her, to me, the best things in life are free.
This is dedicated to my nephew, John, who to this day questions Sasha's existence. Because she bolts when people come over. The photos are imporomptu and were just for fun.
